Practice Nurses
Use nursing knowledge and complex nursing judgment to assess health needs and provide care, and to advise and support people to manage their health. Our practice nurses are Sue Griffin, Kaylee Heersink, Renee McGlue, Cassie O’Donnell and Sue Hardie.
Nurse Practitioners
Have completed a Masters Degree in Nursing and have a wide range of specialist nursing skills. Practitioners can assess, treat, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medicines and have an excellent knowledge of our community. Our nurse practitioner is Kathy Hines.
General Practitioners
A general practitioner is a doctor who works in a general practice clinic or medical clinic. A GP has to do at least 11 years of medical training. GPs access, diagnose and treat people living in the community. They work with people of all ages and have a broad range of medical knowledge on different health conditions. Our GPs are Sarah Fountain, Emma Boddington, Emily Burgess, Ilana Yannai and Calum Stannett.
Cardiovascular Risk Assessments
Coronary artery disease is the most common type of heart disease and happens when the arteries that supply blood to the heart muscle become hardened and narrowed. A gradual blockage can result in angina. A sudden or severe blockage can cause a heart attack or cardiac arrest. Book an appointment with a practice nurse for healthy lifestyle advice and have your blood pressure and cholesterol checked.
BP – High Blood Pressure
BP – High blood pressure is a common condition in which the force of your blood against your artery walls is too high, too often. Ongoing high blood pressure puts stress on the heart and can lead to health problems, such as heart disease and stroke. High blood pressure is also known as hypertension. All patient’s with diabetes are at a greater risk of complications and cardio vascular disease. Annual reviews give you an opportunity to ensure the right clinically optimum management, discuss clinical issue, lifestyle factors and how to manage them. Book with a nurse today.
